In Memoriam

Henriette Boissevain passed away in November 2010 followed by her husband, Serge, in January 2011. Private ceremonies were held at the Finca, by family and friends. In the company of Henriette and Serge's beautiful yeguas and potros, their ashes were scattered on the sun drenched Andalusian lands of Finca El Ermitano. A memorial service is planned for the end of summer 2011 in remembrance of the unusual creatures they were, the unique love they shared and the journey they travelled together. Invitations will be sent out and a notification will be posted on this website with full details.

The Ganaderia is now under new ownership and will be renamed 'The Foundation For The Spanish Horses' with a new website created shortly. The current site will be kept up until after the ceremony for people to have an opportunity to see the Finca and Ganaderia. For any further inquiries, please use the contact information provided.

Somewhere in time's own space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
Some paradise where horses go,
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again.
